New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday issued notice to Chhattisgarh Director General of Police (DGP) over reported suicide by a young man in Bilaspur district.
Taking suo motu cognizance of a media report that a 23 year old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train, as he could not bear the humiliation of watching his father allegedly beaten up mercilessly by the police personnel at a Police Station under the Bilaspur district, the Rights body asked for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks.
The NHRC said that the report must include action taken against the police personnel responsible and whether any relief has been granted to the aggrieved family.
