NHPC releases Rs 16.25 cr compensation towards loss of fisheries sector in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 7 (UNI) The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) has released Rs 16.25 crore as compensation towards loss to fisheries sector due to hydroelectric projects in Jammu and Kashmir, where five fish development projects were taken up to increase production.
To enhance the fish production in hee State, the Government has taken up five Fish Development Projects in Chenab, Jhelum, Kishanganga, Suru and Sindh rivers, officials said here today.
In this regard, the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) has provided Rs16.25 crore as compensation of affected water bodies in these rivers.
