US must lift all unilateral sanctions against Iran - Russian Envoy to IAEA

Moscow, Nov 18 (Sputnik) - The United States must immediately lift all unilateral sanctions against Iran following its withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said Wednesday.
Speaking at a session of the IAEA Board of Governors on the issue of verification and monitoring in Iran in the light of 2015 UN Security Council resolution 2231, Ulyanov recalled that the "root cause" of Iran's actions to reduce its obligations under the JCPOA was the "unauthorized withdrawal of the United States from the 'nuclear deal' and their imposition of unlawful extraterritorial sanctions against Tehran, including in an attempt to force the remaining JCPOA members to cease fulfilling their obligations."
"The United States must ensure the full implementation of all its obligations and immediately correct the omissions and violations, including the lifting of all unilateral sanctions against Iran that were introduced after the withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018," Ulyanov said.
