Uber's London license revoked due to passenger safety violations - UK Transport Agency

London, Nov 25 (Sputnik) Transport for London (TfL), a local government body responsible for the city's transportation system, said on Monday that it had revoked Uber's London operating license due to the company's failure to ensure passenger safety.
"TfL has concluded that it will not grant Uber London Limited (Uber) a new private hire operator's licence in response to its latest application," the organization said in a statement.
According to the statement, though Uber made some positive changes, TfL found "a pattern of failures by the company including several breaches that placed passengers and their safety at risk." In particular, unauthorized drivers uploaded their photos to other Uber driver accounts and pick up passengers as if they were the booked driver.
