Dhaka, Sept 16 (UNI) Indian onions will enter Bangladesh on conditions through Hili land port from Wednesday (September 16).
Hili Land Port Import-Export Group President Harun Ur-Rashid told UNI that permission has been granted to release trucks loaded with onions which was stuck against LC opened earlier. Besides, the onion-laden trucks stranded on the border could enter Bangladesh too.
Besides, Bangladesh government has decided to import onion from multiple sources to ensure enough supply of the popular cooking ingredient in the local markets.
In line with the decision, the government has already taken steps to import onions from Turkey and Egypt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
