Sri Lanka's conscience is dead: Cardinal

Colombo, Nov 1 (UNI) Sri Lanka's conscience is dead, Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has said in remarks published on Tuesday, highlighting widespread corruption and increasing crime amid the worst economic crisis in history.

“Conscience is what shows us why we should do the right thing and love God and our neighbours, and why we should be heroes. Do we have a conscience today? There are murders, thefts, and corruption every day -- only crimes,” he was quoted as saying.
