Somali army kills 11 militants in southern region

Mogadishu, Nov 3 (Xinhua) Somali National Army (SNA) Special Forces on Tuesday killed 11 al-Shabab militants including a senior commander in Sablale town in Lower Shabelle region, southern part of the country, officials said.
Mohamed Abdullahi, a senior SNA official said the senior commander, Muad Dhere who was in charge of Jubba regions and ten of his bodyguards were killed.
"SNA special forces conducted an operation in Sablale town this morning and killed 11 al-Shabab militants including a senior commander," Abdullahi told Xinhua by phone.
