Baku denies reports about Ukrainian mercenaries at border with Armenia - Foreign Ministry

Baku, Jul 26 (Sputnik) Reports about alleged mercenaries from Ukraine taking part fighting for Azerbaijan in the border conflict with Armenia are complete misinformation as Baku does not require involvement of outside forces, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayeva has told Sputnik.
Earlier, Ukrainian mercenaries were reported to have been taking part in combat on Azerbaijan's side.
"This absolutely groundless and totally misleading information. Azerbaijan has a quite strong and professional military and has no need for support of any kind of outside forces to prevent military provocations from the enemy and restore territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders," Abdullayeva said.
