Seoul, June 9 (UNI/Xinhua) South Korea reported 12,161 new Covid-19 cases as of midnight Wednesday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 18,200,346, the health authorities said Thursday.
The daily caseload was down from 13,358 in the previous day, but it was higher than 9,891 tallied a week earlier, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
For the past week, the daily average number of confirmed cases was 10,161.
Among the new cases, 65 were imported from overseas, lifting the total to 33,181.
The number of infected people who were in a serious condition stood at 106, down eight from the previous day.
A total of 18 more deaths were confirmed, leaving the death toll at 24,323. The total fatality rate was 0.13 per cent.
