US, France to deepen coordination on global security challenges:  White House

Washington, Nov 11 (UNI/Sputnik) US Vice President Kamala Harris and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed during a meeting in Paris to deepen bilateral coordination with respect to pressing global challenges, including Transatlantic security, the Indo-Pacific and the Sahel region, the White House said.
“Vice President Kamala Harris met with President Emmanuel Macron of France at the Elysee Palace in Paris today […],” the White House said in a press release on Wednesday. “The Vice President reinforced the United States’ commitment to continue deepening coordination and cooperation across a range of global challenges, from Transatlantic security to the Indo-Pacific to the Sahel.”
Harris and Macron also underscored the need to create norms regarding emerging technology as well as strengthen preparedness for future pandemics, the release said.
Harris began a five-day visit to Paris on Tuesday that will include talks with Macron following the latter's meeting with US counterpart Joe Biden earlier to mend relations caused by submarine deals dispute related to the AUKUS pact.
Besides meeting with Macron, Harris will participate in several key events throughout the week, including the Paris Peace Forum and the Paris Conference on Libya.
