Turkey's Cavusoglu congratulates Baku on 'Liberation' of Shusha

Ankara, Nov 8 (Sputnik) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Sunday congratulated Azerbaijan on "the liberation" of the city of Shusha.
Earlier in the day, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the Azerbaijani armed forces took control of the strategic city of Shusha in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. However, later, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that fighting in the city was still ongoing.
"The liberation of the ancient city of Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, is blessed and favorable. On National Flag Day [celebrated in Azerbaijan on November 9], the glorious Azerbaijani flag will also fly in Shusha so as not to be lowered again. Live safely with the tricolor flag, Azerbaijan!" Cavusoglu wrote on Twitter.
