Imran Khan lashes out at opposition for defeating two FATF-related bills in Senate

Islamabad, Aug 25(UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday lambasted his country's opposition for defeating two bills related to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in the Senate, accusing them of trying to sabotage his efforts to help Pakistan exit from the watchdog's 'grey list' for personal political interests.
Khan tweeted this after the opposition-dominated Senate rejected the Anti-Money Laundering (Second Amendment) Bill and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Waqf Properties Bill, both of which were passed by the National Assembly just a day earlier, Dawn News reported.
He accused the opposition of becoming desperate to save their skin and their ill gotten money in the wake of the tightening of the accountability noose around them and said they (the opposition) was trying to bring down his government unless given the NRO.
