Islamabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday left for a two-day visit to China, to attend the second round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue.
In a video message prior to his departure, Mr Qureshi described the visit as a 'very important trip to China,' adding that he had a discussion with Prime Minister Imran Khan, prior to his departure.
"..My delegation will represent the stance of the political and military leadership of the country. I am hopeful that my meeting with Foreign Minster Wang Yi will prove beneficial for both the countries,' The Dawn quoted the Minister as saying in a statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office.
The statement said that Mr Qureshi, along with other senior officials, will lead the Pakistani delegation in the dialogue, while the Chinese side will be led by China's State Councillor and Foreign Minster Wang Yi.
The statement said that both sides will discuss cooperation on COVID-19 pandemic, bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual interest, adding that the visit will play an important role in further strengthening the Pakistan-China 'All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership' and deepen the strategic communication and coordination with China on a range of issues.
The first round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue was held in March, 2019, in which both sides vowed to protect the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor from all threats.
