Tehran, Oct 12 (UNI/Xinhua) Iran will host a regional meeting on Afghanistan in the coming days, an official at Iran's Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Rasoul Mousavi, director general of the South Asian affairs of the ministry, said "a meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighbors will be held in Tehran soon."
Afghanistan's future is tied to the country's regional cooperation, Mousavi was quoted as saying by the state TV.
The official did not provide further details of the agenda of the talks and the number of the participating states.
In September, Pakistan hosted a virtual conference on Afghanistan that brought together the foreign ministers of Afghanistan's six neighboring states, including China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
