Afghan govt releases nearly all prisoners on Taliban list

Kabul, Sep 3 (UNI) Afghanistan's National Security Council (NSC) on Thursday said that the Afghan government has completed the process of releasing all Taliban prisoners, except about half dozen of them, because of international pressure not to release them.
Those that were not released were the ones accused of very serious crimes and therefore there was enormous pressure upon the Afghan government not to release them, TOLOnews reported.
In return the Taliban released those government officials who were being held prisoner by them. The Afghan government received the commandos held hostage by the Taliban after the government released the remaining 400 Taliban prisoners.
