Armenian protesters continue blocking roads to mount pressure on prime minister

Yerevan, Dec 22 (Sputnik) Armenians unhappy about their prime minister's decision to sign a peace deal with Azerbaijan blocked two major highways on Tuesday, an opposition party member said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was forced to cut short his trip to the south on Monday after protesters blocked a road to the town of Goris and demanded his resignation for ceding parts of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan, which they said put their security at risk.
"We have been told that highways from Vanadzor to Yerevan and from Ijevan to Yerevan have been blocked. People from Pashinyan’s native town [Ijevan] want him out," Gegam Manukyan, a member of the nationalist Armenian Revolutionary Federation, said.
