Pakistan plane crash: Death toll soars to 97, 2 survive

Islamabad, May 23 (UNI) The death toll in the A320 plane crash near Karachi has reached 97, Pakistan's Sindh Health Department spokeswoman Meeran Yousuf confirmed on Saturday.
The Pakistan passenger plane, with over 99 people onboard, crashed at a residential complex near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi while landing on Friday afternoon.
"Final #PlaneCrash update for today: Total people on board: 99. Total deaths: 97. Survivors: 02," Health and Population Welfare Department, Sindh said in a tweet.
The spokeswoman added that 19 bodies had been identified so far.
Meanwhile, media wing of Pakistan Army, the Inter-Services Public Relations, said that two people have survived the crash.
The search-and-rescue operation at the crash site was still underway till the last reports came in.
