Pakistan informs India of decision to allow transit of humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan

Islamabad, Nov 24 (UNI) With Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan giving the green light for the transit of 50,000 MT of wheat and life-saving medicines from India as humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan, the Pakistan Foreign Office formally conveyed the decision to the Indian Charge d’ Affaires on Wednesday.
“As a goodwill gesture towards the brotherly Afghan people, the government of Pakistan has decided to allow the transportation of 50,000 Metric Tonnes of wheat and life-saving medicines from India to Afghanistan via Wagah Border on an exceptional basis for humanitarian purposes,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The FO said the decision was formally conveyed to the Charge d’ Affaires of India in Islamabad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
