Male, July 14 (UNI) The Indian Embassy in Maldives on Thursday refuted the reports that Indian Government was involved in reportedly transiting Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa through Maldives.
The Embassy said in a tweet, "High Commission categorically denies baseless reports that suggest that Govt. of India was involved in the reported transit of Gotabaya through the Maldives."
The tweet came in response to some media reports, which alleged that the Indian Government was involved in the reported transit of Rajapaksa.
The Sri Lankan President, along with his wife and two security officials, had fled the Island nation on Wednesday.
