Reintroducing tigers in Cambodia among MoUs signed by VP Dhankhar

Phnom Penh, Nov 12 (UNI) India and Cambodia on Saturday exchanged several MoUs in areas of culture, wildlife and health here in the presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen, the Foreign Ministry said, adding one of which will seek to reintroduce tigers in the Southeast Asian nation.
Dhankhar arrived in Cambodia on his maiden three-day tour on Friday to attend a host of events including the ASEAN India Commemorative Summit and the 17th East Asia Summit.
Dhankhar held a bilateral meeting with Cambodian prime minister.
Wide-ranging discussions on bilateral ties including human resource, de-mining and development projects were held during the meeting, MEA official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet.
An MOU between Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and Ministry of Health of Cambodia has been inked for Cooperation in the Field of Health and Medicine.
Another MoU has been signed between Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Ministry of Environment of Cambodia for Cooperation in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Wildlife Management, which will lead to reintroduction of tigers in Cambodia.
An MoU between IIT, Jodhpur, and Institute of Technology, Cambodia has been signed in the field of Research, Development and Application of Technology for Digital Documentation of Cultural Heritage.
A Financing Agreement has also been signed between the two nations on Conservation and Preservation of Wat Raja Bo Pagoda Paintings in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Dhankhar also held a bilateral meeting with Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the sidelines of the ASEAN India Commemorative Summit here.
