Kabul, Nov 7 (UNI) The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) said it will be launching its first country-wide polio vaccination campaign in Afghanistan on Monday, November 8.
“The national #polio vaccination campaign will start all over the country tomorrow. Vaccinate your #children against polio and protect their future! #VaccinesWork,” the UN agency tweeted on Sunday.
The Taliban authorities gave the UNICEF the green light to conduct its operations and proceed with the nation-wide house-to-house polio vaccination campaign following negotiations with the Taliban leadership by the WHO and UNICEF.
