COVID-19 cases in Mexico surpasses 800,000

Mexico City, Oct 9 (UNI) The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mexico has increased by 5,300 within the past 24 hours and reached to 804,488.
“As of today, 804,488 cases of the disease have been confirmed,” Alomia said at a press conference on late Thursday, Jose Luis Alomia, the director of epidemiology at the Health Ministry, said.
The World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11. To date, more than 36.4 million people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide, with over 1.06 million fatalities, according to Johns Hopkins University.
