Lebanon's number of COVID-19 cases exceeds 28,000

Beirut, Sept 19 (Xinhua) Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Saturday by 779 to reach 28,297, while the death toll went up by five to reach 286, the Health Ministry reported.

Director General of Rafic Hariri University Hospital Firas Abiad warned on Saturday that the daily increase in COVID-19 cases has been alarming, as Lebanon can only provide 60 beds in emergency rooms at hospitals for the time being.
