Yangon, Oct 14 (UNI) At least five people were killed in a fire at a beauty salon in Myanmar's central region on Wednesday, the regional Fire Services Department said.
The fire broke out at 0002 am local time (1730 GMT) in Chanayethazan township of Mandalay region.
"Only dead bodies of five victims were recovered from the scene," a member of Mandalay region's Fire Services Department who took part in the rescue operation told Xinhua news agency.
Caused by an overheating socket outlet, the fire lasted for 11 minutes and destroyed the two-storey building of the beauty salon, killing five victims.
"When the mishap happened, everyone was in a deep sleep and died of smoke inhalation," a witness who was near the scene said.
The beauty salon owner was filed a case by the township police.
