Brazil's Lula, China's Xi discuss Ukraine peace efforts, climate cooperation

Mexico City, August 12 (UNI) Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone conversation during which they discussed the international agenda and efforts to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine, the Brazilian leader's office said.
“During the conversation, which lasted about an hour, the parties exchanged views on the current international situation and the latest initiatives to establish peace between Russia and Ukraine. The leaders emphasized the importance of the G20 and the BRICS grouping as pillars of the multilateral system,” the Brazilian government said in a statement.
