Harris-Trump debate drew over 67 mln viewers

Washington, Sep 12 (UNI) The presidential debate between US Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump that was hosted by ABC News drew an estimated audience of more than 67 million people, television ratings service Nielsen said.
Tuesday’s viewership was higher than the 51.3 million that tuned in to watch the CNN-hosted June 29 debate between Republican Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden. Biden was the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee before he stepped aside to allow Harris to replace him.
Nielsen said in a statement Thursday that viewership count was taken from the total number of people who watched the debates from the 17 networks that aired them.
