Damascus, Jul 19 (UNI) Voting is underway for the country’s Legislative elections. The polling stations were opened for voters at 0800 hours local time.
More than 1,600 candidates are contesting for the 250 seats of the People’s Council of Syria. The Baath Party headed National Progressive Front is said to be favorite to secure a majority.
Around seven thousands polling stations have been set up across the country.
