OPEC maintains 2021, 2022 global economy growth forecasts unchanged at 5.6 pc, 4.2 pc

Vienna, Nov 11 (UNI/Sputnik) The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) maintained its global economy growth forecast for 2021 and 2022 unchanged at 5.6 percent and 4.2 percent respectively, upgrading the 2021 forecast for the euro area to 5.1 percent.
"Global economic growth forecasts for both 2021 and 2022 remain unchanged from the last month’s assessment at 5.6 percent and 4.2 percent, respectively ... Euro-zone economic growth for 2021 is revised up slightly to 5.1 percent after continued strong growth in 3Q21, and remains at 3.9 percent for 2022," the OPEC said in its fresh monthly oil market report.
The OPEC downgraded its forecasts for the US economy growth to 5.5 percent in 2021 and 4.1 percent in 2022 due to "lower-than-expected economic growth in 3Q21."
