Moscow, Aug 20 (UNI) Russia's Yug (South) group of forces has repelled two counterattacks and eliminated more than 680 Ukrainian servicepeople over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] lost in total more than 680 troops, four motor vehicles [among other military losses in battles with the southern group]," the ministry said in a statement, adding that the group has repelled two counterattacks.
In battles with the Tsentr (Center) group of forces, Kiev has lost over 585 troops, the statement read, adding that "as a result of active operations by the Tsentr Group of Forces units ... one of the largest settlements of the Toretsk agglomeration and a strategically important logistics centre of Novgorodskoye (Donetsk People's Republic) [also known as Niu-York] were liberated."
