French Mayor hospitalized after knife attack - Report

Paris, Aug 7 (UNI) The mayor of Villeneuve-de-Marc, a small town near Lyon in southeastern France, was hospitalized after a knife attack, Le Parisien newspaper reported on Thursday.
Gilles Dussault, 63, was stabbed three times in the chest while walking down a street with his 28-year-old son on Wednesday evening. The attacker tried to run over both men with a car but missed and crashed into a wall. The suspect proceeded to assault the mayor's son before fleeing.
Dussault was hospitalized in critical condition, although his life is no longer in danger.
