Dhaka, Aug 7 (UNI) Anti-quota protestors have continued to target partymen of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with reports pointing toward attacks on houses of two Members of Parliament (MP) and more than 100 Awami League supporters in Lalmonirhat district, media reports said on Wednesday.
The Lalmonirhat Fire Services reported that six charred bodies were recovered from the residence of Suman Khan, district AL joint secretary. The unidentified bodies were recovered from the fourth floor of the house around 4.30 am on Monday, online news portal Daily Observer reported.
The families of the student protesters involved in anti-discrimination protest voiced their concerns that the remains may be of their children and the authorities plan to conduct DNA test to identify the bodies, it said.
According to the media reports, the celebratory processions by quota agitators following Hasina’s ouster also resulted in vandalism at the houses of Awami League MPs leaders, including Motahar Hossain, MP from Lalmonirhat-1 and district Awami league president, and Motihar Rahman, Lalmonirhat-3 MP and district Awami league general secretary.
