Colombia's largest HP to start work Oct 15

Bogota, July 27 (UNI) The first two of the eight turbines of the hydropower plant Hidroituango, which is expected to become the most powerful in Colombia, will start operations in October and on-site water testing will commence in September, project operator company Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM) said.
"EPM will put into commercial operation the unit no 1 of Hidroituango on October 15 and unit no 2 on October 20," the company said in a statement.
Hidroituango hydropower plant, the construction of which began in 2010, is one of the biggest infrastructure projects of Colombia. The commissioning of the dam on the Cauca river was planned for the end of 2018, but a series of incidents caused by heavy rains and landslides forced the authorities to postpone it.
