Tripoli, July 22 (UNI/Sputnik) At least four people died in the Libyan capital of Tripoli after violent clashes broke out between illegal armed groups, a spokesman for Libya’s Ambulance and Emergency Services, Osama Ali, told Sputnik.
"Three people killed and two injured were admitted to a hospital in Tripoli as the result of clashes in the capital. We are waiting for final information," Ali said.
Negotiations are underway to evacuate 60 students stuck in the combat zone in one of the university campuses in the district of Al Farnaj, the spokesman said.
A spokesman for a local center of field medicine, Malik Mursid, told Sputnik that there is one more casualty in Tripoli and 20 civilians have been evacuated from Al Farnaj.
The center of field medicine and Tripoli ambulance services are doing everything in their power to guarantee safe evacuation corridors for civilians from the districts where there are clashes, he said.
