Bangladesh: Protesters block Shahbagh for 2nd day

Dhaka, Aug 10 (UNI) Thousands of protesters, including students and Hindu community members, blocked the Shahbagh intersection for the second consecutive day, demanding an end to attacks on homes, shops, and temples following the Awami League (AL) government's fall, media reports said on Saturday.
The protesters began gathering at Shahbagh around 1500 hours with banners, posters, the Daily Star reported.
They shouted slogans such as "Save the Hindus," "Why are my temples and homes being looted? We want answers," "Hindu persecution in independent Bangladesh, it will not continue," "Religion is for individuals, the state is for everyone," and "Ensure the safety of Hindus.''
