All 10 ASEAN nation heads to grace R-Day celebrations of 2018

Manila, Nov 14 (UNI) The next year's Republic Day celebrations at the Rajpath on January 26, 2018 is likely to see the grand gathering of all nation heads of ASEAN member countries.

"Prime Minister invited all the 10 leaders from the ASEAN countries for the ASEAN Commemorative Summit on January 25, 2018 and then he invited them to be special guests for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26....In response all the ASEAN leaders thanked the Prime Minister for the invite and graciously accepted this invitation," Secretary East in the MEA, Preeti Saran, told reporters here at the end of the 31st ASEAN Summit here.

She said all the leaders of ASEAN countries warmly welcomed Prime Minister for this particular Summit.

Thanking the ASEAN leaders, Mr Modi invited all of them to arrive India for next year's mega event at the ASEAN-India level.

In his opening remarks at the ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister earlier in the day said, "I look forward to a befitting culmination of the commemorative year and receiving you at the India-ASEAN Special Commemorative Summit on 25 January 2018 in New Delhi".

"The 1.25 billion people of India are keen to welcome the ASEAN Leaders as our Chief Guests at India’s 69th Republic Day Celebrations. I am committed to working with you to realize our common destiny," Prime Minister said.
