Washington, Jul 30 (UNI) The Trump administration said on Thursday that it is planning to withdraw some of the federal forces from Portland and Oregon, in a phased manner, after weeks of clashes with protesters.
US Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said the pullout will be carried out on the condition that the local police protects the federal buildings, which have been the focal point of the ongoing unrest, a BBC report said.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown said federal agents would start leaving the state's biggest city from Thursday.
