Mah: Marathwada region continues to be lashed by heavy rains, several dams filled up

Aurangabad, Sep 28(UNI) Torrential rains caused by cyclonic storm 'Gulab's' impact has been lashing all the eight districts of Marathwada region since last night which has resulted in all the rivers, streams and nullahs getting flooded and has affected normal life in the region.

Reports from Beed district stated that, since last night heavy rains have been lashing the catchment area of ​Manjara Dam which was already filled up 100 percent and 18 gates of the dam have been opened early this morning with discharge of 71,000 cubic feet per second of water into the Manjara river basin, according to Manjara Dam irrigation sources. Heavy rains is also continuing in Ambajogai town resulting in the road been closed due to flooding of Kaij bridge.
