Drastic reduction in Ganesh idol immersion this year

Thane, Sep 2 (UNI) A huge reduction in Ganpati idol immersion was noticed in Thane district, which is known for celebrating the 11-day festival with much religious fervour and gaiety, due to the looming pandemic this year.
Tuesday was the last day of immersion of the idols of Lord Ganesh, being the Anant Chathurthi.
The reports stated that last year as many as 37,060 idols were immersed while this year only 23,117 idols were immersed, dipped by 38 pc.
