Kolhapur, Jan 12 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP on Wednesday dubbed the security breach incident as an assassination plot against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On January 5, the convoy of PM Modi was stopped by some protestors in Punjab. The unintended halt lasted for nearly 20 minutes after which the local police managed to disperse the crowd.
All this happened while the SPG or PM’s bodyguards stealthily guarded the PM.
The incident fiercely pitted the BJP against Congress, with the former holding the latter solely responsible for the security breach.
Meanwhile, the Congress denied the allegation and termed the breach as PM Modi’s calculated move to not attend a planned rally due to "scant presence of the crowd".
Regarding the same incident, a TV channel has now done a sting operation and claimed to connect the missing dots which caused the breach.
Addressing a presser, Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil alleged that the breach was a plot to assassinate the PM while basing his serious claim on the sting operation.
He told that it could be clearly seen in the sting that the Punjab IGP beforehand knew about “some obstacles in the way of PM’s convoy”.
The top cop asked his juniors not to take any action if a scenario road blocking the convoy arises, asserted Mr Patil.
Reiterating the claim of assassination plot, he underlined that the place where the convoy was stuck was “just 10 km away from Pakistan by road and 3 km from air”.
“Hence, there was a possibility of drone attack,” he told.
