Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) A delegation of opposition NCP leaders on Wednesday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis and demanded to give immediate financial assistance and relief to farmers and citizens of areas affected by heavy rains and floods in the state, including Vidarbha and Marathwada regions.
Led by Opposition leader in the state assembly Ajit Pawar, the delegation comprised of senior leader and former minister Chhagan Bhujbal, MLA Anil Patil, MLAs Dattamama Bharne, Sunil Bhusara and other leaders.
Notably, Pawar, during his recent visit to the flood affected areas in the state, has demanded to declare wet drought in these areas and to provide compensation to affected farmers and villagers.
