Mumbai, Oct 21(UNI) Eknath Khadse quit the Bharatiya Janata Party to join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra, NCP leader Jayant Patil said on Wednesday.
Mr Khadse, who is the OBC face in the upper caste dominated BJP, has been MLA from 1990 from Jalgaon district for 30 years.
Once considered as CM candidate whose daughter in law Raksha is also a BJP MP, Khadse entered active politics as a BJP worker in the 1980s and helped the party establish its base in north Maharashtra. Hailing from the Leva community, Khadse had positioned himself as an OBC leader.
