Aurangabad / Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole on Thursday emphasized on empowering the booth committees in order to make Congress the number one party in the state.
Speaking at a meeting of the party candidates defeated in 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections here, he reminded them that Congress is the oldest and largest national party and said situation in the state is currently favourable for the party.
He further said that in the 2019 elections, about 14 to 15 Congress candidates were defeated by very few votes.and asked the party workers to focus on strengthening the party organization and work with dedication, so that the chances of the Congress winning in upcoming elections will be brighter.
The MPCC chief further said the people of the country are fed up with BJP at the Centre and asked the party workers to take the idea of Congress to the grassroots.
"Farmers are protesting and the government is not paying attention to them. Inflation, unemployment are big problems and the BJP government at the Centre is ignoring these problems facing the people. The central government has also failed to deal with corona situation and this failure of the government should reach the masses," he asserted.
"There is a large section of people who believe in Congress and it is the only viable option," added Mr Patole.
