Panaji, Nov 15 (UNI) The Goa Congress on Sunday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state as well as at the Centre of politicising each and every institution and challenged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to produce evidence over his claim that former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat had given permission to increase coal handling at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT).
In a statement, Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar said,'BJP Government at the Centre as well as the State have politicised each and every Institution and autonomous bodies and the recent statement made by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant blaming former CM Digambar Kamat over a permission given to Mormugao Port Trust(MPT) by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) to increase Coal handling capacity is a reflection of the same. We dare the CM to produce evidence that then CM Digambar Kamat had any role to play in granting those permissions.'
He was reacting to the statement made by the Chief Minister wherein Dr Pramod Sawant had held Congress responsible for coal menace in Goa.
