Baseless allegations being made against Kamat, Madgaonkars: Congress leaders

Margao, Sep 3 (UNI) The Congress leaders on Thursday alleged that baseless allegations were being made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders against Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and citizens of Margao for the daylight murder which took place here on September 2, 2020, and said the allegations would not be tolerated.
In a joint statement, Margao Block Congress President Gopal Naik said,''We strongly condemn the act of BJP President Sadanand Tanavade who blamed the Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and Citizens of Margao for the day light murder of young jeweller yesterday. We want to know why the top brass of the BJP hurriedly descended to Margao after the murder. After the links of BJP top brass with drugs mafia, beggar mafia, money laundering mafia have got exposed in the last few days, is it that BJP President and Organizing Secretary Satish Dhond came to Margao to protect the master mind behind the murder?.''
Former Councillor Damodar Shirodkar said,''Madgaonkars will not tolerate baseless, false and misleading allegations against the Citizens of Margao and MLA Digambar Kamat. We want to warn all those including the BJP Office bearers and workers to stop spreading lies and misleading information defaming the Citizens of Margao and Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, failing which Madgaonkars will be compelled to come on the streets.''
