Panaji, Oct 10 (UNI) North Goa District Congress President Vijay Bhike has said that the tall claims made by Union Jal Shakti ministry that Goa is the first state in the country to provide 100 per cent tap water connections in rural areas is another "Jumala".
In a statement, he said,'People in the villages still depend on their wells or nearby rivulets for daily consumption of water. People in Urban areas suffer as their taps go dry for weeks. We challenge the Union Jal Shakti minister to walk the talk by visiting Goa. We will take him to various villages to make him realise the ground reality.'
Mr Bhike said the annoucement of the Union Jal Shakti ministry was like rubbing salt on the village people who were putting hardships to pull water from the wells or walk a long distance to get water from nearby rivulets.
