Mumbai, Mar 11 (UNI) The impending National Legislator's Conference is a pedestial to bring MLAs and MLCs from all over the country together to discuss issues under one roof.
The conference is slated to be held from June 15 to 18 in Mumbai, said an official.
The skyline is that it is a historic event and first of its kind where legislators are gathering in huge numbers to deliberate on ideas and practices to find solutions to persisting problems and address matters.
NLC Bharat is a non-partisan platform for interaction between legislatures to be informed and get informed. Its goal is to promote good governance.
The four day event will see more than 80 parallel participatory sessions of MLAs and MLCs.Acclaimed global leaders are expected to grace the occasion in order to strengthen the democracy.
For the conference, UP legislative assembly speaker Satish said, "The relation between legislators has become bitter over time.The need now is to overcome it".
Putting her views , Dr Meira Kumar said we should all contribute to make NLC Bharat a success.
NLC is an attempt to covehesively build the nation, says convenor NLC Bharat and for this the conference is being organised.
The conference has mission to strengthen democratic values and enhance integrity in law-making and policy formulation, said another representative.
Patrons of the council include Meira Kumar,Om Birla, Manohar Joshi among others.
