Aurangabad, Jan 16 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 204 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the health authorities informed on Saturday.
The region also recorded nine deaths due to the coronavirus during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region,Beed district recorded 35 cases and 3 deaths, followed by Jalna with 9 new cases and 2 deaths,Latur had 47 cases and single death , Aurangabad district registered 36 cases and single death,Nanded had 34 new cases and single death, Parbhani 23 cases and single death, Osmanabad 15 cases and Hingoli 6 cases.
As per the official data, 3,145 more corona cases and 45 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state's cumulative tally to 19,89,768.
Meanwhile, 3,500 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 18,81,088.
With this, the state's recovery rate has now risen to 94.78 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.54 per cent.
According to the health officials, so far a total of 50,336 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state while 52,152 patients are currently undergoing treatment across the state.
