BJP seeks Nana Patole's arrest

BJP seeks Nana Patole's arrest

Nagpur, Jan 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Nana Patole's alleged abuse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday led to a flurry of demands from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for his arrest.
Former Maharashtra Minister and BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule filed a complaint against Patole for making derogatory remarks during an interaction with party workers in Bhandara. The remarks went viral on social media.
Bawankule lodged a complaint with the Koradi police station. He and his party workers squatted in front of the police station seeking a FIR against Patole and his arrest.
Campaigning in Bhandara and Gondia Zilla Parishad elections, Patole allegedly said: “I can beat Modi. I can abuse Modi."
As the video became viral, Patole said the statement referred to a village goon Modi, not the Prime Minister.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari lodged a similar complaint in Nagpur and Bhandara-Gondia MP Sunil Mendhe too filed also a complaint against Patole in Bhandara.
