Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Aug 13 (UNI) State Election Commission in Maharashtra has declared elections in 608 Gram Panchayats on September 18, according to SEC UPS Madan.
Elections will be held for the post of Sarpanch along with rural body members posts at 51 talukas in the state which have low rainfall. Counting of votes will be on September 19.
The model code of conduct came into effect Friday.
The rural body elections will take place at Mahur taluka 24 in Nanded district, Kinwat 47, Ardhapur one, Mudkhed three, Naigaon four, Loha five, Kandahar four, Mukhed five, Deglaur one, Aundha Nagnath six in Hingoli district, Jintur one in Parbhani district and four gram panchayats in Palam taluka of Marathwada region among others.
