During the service fortnight, 652 patients in the district underwent cataract surgery: Dr. Ashok Thorat

Nashik Oct 4 (UNI) Eye disease diagnosis camps were organized in 105 government health institutions of the district. According to district surgeon Dr. Ashok Thorat.
According to an official press note released here today, under the guidance of Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pawar, eye diagnosis camps were organized in the district during 'Seva Fortnight' from 17th September to 2nd October, 2022. With the aim of filling up the backlog of cataract patients in the district, the camp was held at 32 rural hospitals, 5 sub-district hospitals and general hospital Malegaon in 15 talukas of the district in collaboration with the district hospital and the district council. In these camps, 17 , 985 patients were examined and 814 cataract patients were found. Among them 652 patients have also undergone successful cataract surgery.
Also, through these camps, 1,187 school students were examined for their eyes and 216 students were found to be visually impaired. Through these camps, 2,117 citizens have filled the application for eye donation and resolved to donate eyes. Similarly, certificates were also distributed to 108 disabled persons on this occasion.
